Allan J Ontko (b 1947) attended Westminster Choir College and studied organ with teachers such as
Charles Dodsley Walker, Mary Krimmel, George Markey, and William Whitehead. He studied composition with Warren Martin
and David Stanley York. He is an accomplished organ builder and has maintained several notable organs, including the
IV/58 Wurlitzer theatre pipe organ at Radio City Music Hall, New York City. I have known Allan for many years, and he strives
for the best in everything he does. Moderately easy.
Pierre Leemans (1897–1980) was born in Schaerbeek, Belgium, and studied piano,
harmony, orchestration, and composition at the Brussels Royal Conservatory of Music. He taught music, served in the Belgian Army,
and became program director for Belgian Broadcasting Company. He won a composition contest for his march for the 1935 Brussels
World Exposition. Leemans composed this march using themes from his earlier efforts, including the middle section of this piece
which was awarded only a consolation prize in a previous contest.
