Edwin Arthur Kraft (1883-1962) was born in Connecticut and studied at Yale with Horatio Parker and in Paris with Guilmant and Widor. This is Kraft’s arrangement of Alessandro’s first act aria, “Non lo dirò col labbro,” from Handel’s Italian
opera from 1728, Tolomeo. Many will recognize this memorable melody from its being sung as “Silent Worship” or “Wedding Hymn.” It is possible to use this with a violin or trumpet playing the melody. Moderate.
