John Walter Bratton (1867-1947) composed his most famous work in 1907 as a piano march that was
published by Witmark. In 1932, Jimmy Kennedy, an Irish songwriter, wrote lyrics for the piece, being inspired by a small
wooded section on him home property. After the addition of these lyrics, the piece became even more popular.
Charles Cronham (1896–1969)
was born in Jersey City, New Jersey, and was a life-long advocate for the organ. He served as a
municipal organist in Portland, Maine; he taught, wrote, and arranged many pieces
through his life. Most of the Hammond registrations you see were provided by Cronham. Moderately easy.
